Luja Foundation is an industrial foundation established by Søren Luja Hansen. The foundation was created with the ambition of ensuring optimal utilization of wood resources, while responsibly reinvesting returns in society for charitable purposes.
The foundation's domicile is Odense, Denmark.
Luja Foundation works towards a goal of promoting the use of band saws for cutting wood in order to utilize our natural raw materials in the best possible way. At the same time, the main focus for grants is directed towards talents with mental health challenges, who, with support, can develop their skills and build a better quality of life through contributions to society.
The commercial purpose
Luja Foundation shall be recognised for its expertise in resource-optimizing cutting techniques. Wood is a natural resource that stores CO₂ for many years while it grows in the forest.
Once the tree is felled, the trunks must be optimally converted into usable materials that can store CO₂ for many years to come as materials in houses, packaging, etc.
Our purpose is to optimize this cutting process.
The charitable purpose
Luja Foundation is an independent foundation without private ownership that can access profits from the fund's activities. Instead, the profit from the fund's activities is used for charitable purposes.
Our main focus for grants is directed towards talents with mental health challenges, which make it difficult to contribute to society without help with a framework for their participation.
It is important for Luja Foundation that grants are given with a focus on talents who, with the support, can:
- Develop their skills.
- Build a better quality of life.
- Contribute to the business community or in other ways to society.
The foundation's support is given in the form of financial support to individuals and to organisations that work to help the target group into work or employment.
